NickServ & MemoServ Help

We have provided for you here just a short help key to the most common and used commands by the general user base. This is not all the command options we have to offer on our server, but if you require further help either join our server and channel and ask one of our volunteers or feel free to attend one of out Wired-Ed classes.

The values below which use the enclosed characters of <, >, [,  ], {, }, and | are meant to serve only as place holders. Please replace the enclosed values with your own and do not use the brackets in your command.

Nickname Protection Services (NickServ)

/IDENTIFY <Your Nick Password>
- This Command will identify you to the nick name you registered

/NickServ
- These are the secure command aliases you can use to send NickServ a command. Either one works equally as well this is the same as if you where to /msg NickServ.

/NickServ IDENTIFY
- Same as /IDENTIFY Just a different method.

/NickServ RECOVER <nickname> [password]
- Use this command to recover your name after a lost connection has left a ghost of you on the server or if someone else has stolen your registered nick and you want it back.

/NickServ RELEASE <nickname> [password]
- Instructs NickServ to remove any hold on your nickname caused by automatic kill protection or use of the RECOVER command. By default, such holds last for one minute this command gets rid of them sooner.

/NickServ SET KILL <ON|OFF>
- Toggles Auto Nickname protection on or off. When ON a user who does not identify to a nick will have their nick forcibly changed to that of a Guest####

/NickServ SET SECURE <ON|OFF>
- This will force you to IDENTIFY with your nick before you gain access to privileges granted to you on our server this settings overrides any MASKS you may have in your access list. (This is REQUIRED for all our volunteers)

/NickServ SET EMAIL <you@yourisp.com>
- Use this command to SET the EMAIL associated with your registered nickname. (It is important that this email is valid if you lose your nick password your password will need to be sent to you. Our Operator's will never ask or give you your password for security reasons.

/NickServ SENDPASS <nickname>
- Use this command to have services email you your password if you have lost it. Services will attempt to email the account set as your NickServ EMAIL

/NickServ SET LANGUAGE <1-7>
- Utilize out Multi Language Support with the option of selecting 7 different languages in which services can respond to your commands and help requests. Options are as follows...

1) English
2) Français (French)
3) Deutsch (German)
4) Português (Portuguese)
5) Español (Spanish)
6) Türkçe (Turkish)
7) Catala (Catalan)

Memo - Stored Message Services (MemoServ)

/MemoServ
- Either Command will send a command to Memo Server in a secure manner.

/MemoServ LIST
- List Your Memos

/MemoServ READ [channel] {num | list | LAST | NEW}
- Sends you the text of the memos specified. If LAST is given, sends you the memo you most recently received. If NEW is given, sends you all of your new memos. Otherwise, sends you memo number num. You can also give a list of  numbers, as in this example:

/MemoServ READ 2-5,7-9
- Displays memos numbered 2 through 5 and 7 through 9.

Note: the channel value is not required and is only intended for those with SuperOp on a given channel as memo's CAN be sent to channels.

/MemoServ SEND {nick | channel} <memo-text>
- Sends the named nick or channel a memo containing memo-text. When sending to a nickname, the recipient will receive a notice that he/she has a new memo. The target nickname/channel must be registered.

/MemoServ CANCEL {nick | channel}
- Cancels the last memo you sent to the given nick or channel, provided it has not been read at the time you use the command.

/MemoServ DEL [channel] {num | list | ALL}
- Deletes the specified memo or memos. You can supply multiple memo numbers or ranges of numbers instead of a single number, as in the second example below.

Examples:
/MemoServ DEL 1
- Delete your first memo.

/MemoServ DEL 2-5,7-9
- Deletes memos numbered 2 through 5 and 7 through 9.

There are other options for MemoServ such as setting limits to how many memos you can get and how you are notified about new and existing memos in your inbox. Please refer to /memoserv help set once on the server for more details.
